  1. Hi my sweet love. I'm so happy that you're such a reader. You've listed some of my favorite books, too! Especially Harry Potter and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I even love the movies of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. What do you think of them?

The books I think you should read next are The Hunger Games books because they are really exciting and good. I just know you'll love them.

Also, I'm curious to see if you like Roller Girl. I hope it comes into the library, soon!

I love you! This was a very interesting blog post.

  3. Hi Scout! I just read a book called Roller Girl that is a lot like El Deafo, except it's about a 12 year old girl who wants to play roller derby! I think you'd like it, and I see that your mom mentioned it too! Another good book that we like (my daughter is 7 too!) is Lulu and the Brontosaurus. And Phoebe and Her Unicorn.

I love that you are keeping a blog. I think reading is magical because it can take us to other worlds in our heads, and it makes our imaginations grow. I look forward to reading more of your posts!

  4. Whoa, Scouty!! This post is aWeSoMe!!!!

Wimpy Kid is awesome (of course)!!! How about Big Nate? I remember how I thought we wouldn't like it because it sort of seemed like a Wimpy Kid rip-off, but it's been great!

I love that you love Calvin & Hobbes!! I always wanted a Calvin & Hobbes buddy!! How about FoxTrot?

I'm really excited about us starting a book called "The Crossover" that's supposed to be really good.

You're such an awesome reader (and writer!!!). Maybe you could read Sisters and Smile and El Deafo to me and Cheesey?

I love you to pieces and I can't wait to read your next blog post!!!

  7. Hi Scout!
I am the mom of 3 boys. My 6 and 8 year old are just learning to read. So far they like Calvin and Hobbes and Diary of a Wimpy Kid too. Leo likes to read about dragons the most. Do you have any books you could recommend to him?

    Thanks
